Husky Formula Racing (HFR) is a student-led engineering organization at St. Cloud State University dedicated to designing, fabricating, and competing a formula-style racecar in the international Formula SAE competition. Our team blends innovation, collaboration, and hands-on experience to push the limits of student engineering.
We welcome students from all majors at SCSU and SCTCC, whether you’re into mechanical design, electrical systems, business strategy, marketing, or just love cars and want to learn. No prior experience required, just curiosity and commitment.

- Design and build a racecar from the ground up using CAD, simulation, and real-world fabrication
- Compete against universities worldwide in Formula SAE events
- Collaborate across disciplines: engineering, business, marketing, and more
